Size & Build
American Akitas are large, powerful dogs, with males standing 26-28 inches at the shoulder and females slightly smaller. They have a robust build, a bear-like head with small, deep-set eyes, and a broad chest.
Coat and Colors
They have a double coat that can come in any color, including white, brindle, or pinto. The breed is known for its plush tail that curls over its back.
Distinctive Features
One of the most notable features of the American Akita is its large, bear-like head, which distinguishes it from its Japanese counterpart.
AMERICAN AKITA FAMILY
Our Akita parents are purebred American Akitas raised indoors and have fantastic personalities. Both parents have an excellent bill of health and have completed DNA and genetic testing through Embark.

These wonderful dogs may not be the perfect fit for every lifestyle. They thrive with regular obedience training and benefit greatly from being socialized early on. Additionally, Akitas need a good deal of grooming to keep them looking their best. We appreciate your understanding and commitment to ensuring a happy and healthy life for these magnificent animals.
